Summer School

Early Start Kindergarten is designed to help incoming students transition smoothly into the Hawthorn community while fostering early growth in literacy, math and social-emotional learning.  Students registered for Kindergarten at Hawthorn for the 2026-2027 school year may participate in the program.  Student hours are from 8 -11:00 a.m., and classes are held at Townline Elementary/School of Dual Language.  Program fee is $199, and transportation is not provided for this program.  Please complete the parent/guardian survey at the time of Kindergarten registration if you are interested in enrolling your child or children in this program.

Extended School Year (ESY) is an extension of the regular school year for students with documented needs on an Individualized Education Plan. A student qualifies for Extended School Year when they demonstrate significant regression in skills and a lengthier recoupment time than their peers over school breaks. In extending the school year for these students, we minimize the regression and recoupment times, providing more equitable access to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE). Student hours for Lincoln are 8:00 am-10:30 a.m. Elementary and Middle School hours are from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. Transportation is provided for all Extended School Year students.

Hawthorn Enrichment Institute (HEI) fosters a student’s love for learning by providing fun and enriching summer learning experiences. Parents/Guardians must provide transportation. 

HEI is scheduled from June 8 - June 26 (no class June 19).

Registration begins the week of February 2 and closes March 20.

Hawthorn Enrichment Institute & Music Camp Administrator

Hawthorn Music Camp is a two-week program for band, orchestra, and music enrichment. Students who currently plan instruments in grades 4th -7th are eligible to participate. Parents/Guardians must provide transportation. 

Music Camp is scheduled June 15-26 (no classes June 19).

Registration begins February 2 and closes March 20.

Hawthorn Sports Camps provide student athletes an opportunity to improve their technique, learn game strategy, and enhance teamwork in a fun, energetic environment. Parents/Guardians must provide transportation. 

Volleyball Camp will be held June 9 - June 18, 2025

Summer Scholars has been designed to ensure student academic readiness and success for the fall. Students are invited to Summer Scholars based on their academic performance using multiple data points, which reflect a student's need for continued learning in the summer. Students will engage in literacy and math activities, while also developing social-emotional skills. Student hours are from 8 a.m. -11:00 a.m., and transportation is provided.
