Dear Townline families,
Halloween parties will be at 2:30 pm today! Thanks to the PTO for their organization and planning so that our students can enjoy a school party!
Our teachers sent conference notices to you last Friday. Please be certain to sign up for a conference! These meetings are a great time to set student goals for the rest of the semester.
Be Seen and Heard© Student Assembly
In response to Erin’s Law (House Bill 6193), which requires all public schools to implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program, Hawthorn District 73 is hosting the Be Seen and Heard© virtual assembly program (via Zoom) for all elementary students during the second week in December. This assembly is designed to create an age-appropriate, safe, and engaging environment in which students learn the difference between safe and unsafe touch, and the importance of having trusted heroes. Please see this bulletin (English or Español) for additional details about the Be Seen and Heard© program.
Are you interested in learning more about the Be Seen and Heard© program? Hawthorn District 73 and the Hawthorn P.T.O. invite parents from all District 73 elementary schools to attend a virtual informational meeting prior to our student assembly programs. Please join us via Zoom on Tuesday, December 1st at 6:30 p.m. to meet with our Be Seen and Heard© program presenter, ask questions, or inquire about additional resources. You are welcome to review this invitation (English or Español) for details. Note our Zoom link will be shared closer to the program date. Many thanks are extended to the Hawthorn P.T.O. for their partnership in hosting this special parent event!
ISBE School Report Cards 2020
As a friendly reminder, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is scheduled to release the 2020 School Report Cards on October 30th via www.illinoisreportcard.com. While a summative designation will be given to each school, it is a reissuance of the designation received in 2019. This was required by the ESSA Assessment and Accountability Waiver that Illinois received in March 2020, as most of the data used by the accountability system is not available to calculate a new 2020 designation. For more information about School Report Cards for 2020, please click here. You are also welcome to visit our district website at www.hawthorn73.org/hawthorn- information/essa for information and resources regarding the Illinois ESSA Plan and the 2019 Illinois School Report Cards.
Families needing technology support before, during, or after the school day are encouraged to access our Student Technology FAQ. Families may also contact our Instructional Technology Department at email@example.com or 847-990-4239. Families may wish to bookmark or print our technology support flyer. A Zoom Home Help Guide is available for families in English and Español.
Have a safe Halloween!
